8 Commissioner Knecht appointed Commissioner Thompson and Tornell for nominating committee, with Commissioner Stuart being Chairman, and report back at the March meeting with their recommendations for Chairman, vice-chairman and secretary. Mr. MOrton reported that a profit was made from funds de- rived from the 4ger Scrimmage -last fall. (Account #96- 205.8) of $3,000, to be spent on Youth Activities, with $500.00 to go to an electric scoreboard at McKinley School; and $700.00 for a portable basketball bucket. Motion was made by Commissioner Beals that these plans be accepted, seconded by Commissioner Schutz and carried, with Commiss- ioner Tornell being noted absent. ~ Commissioner Thompson stated she would like to have a monthly report on activities from each Park & Recreation Superin- tendent. Mr. MOrton explained that enough reports go out on these activities, pl~s being publicized in the Tribune, but if anything new in the line of activities came up, then a report will be made. (Report Filed) The Commission congratulated Park Department on the re-planting of the trees on, Broadway. The Commission accepted Maurice Schutz's resignation with regret.' He has accepted a position in the Panama Canal Zone with the United States Government, for the next two years. Commissioner Thompson reported on meeting of February 2, 1965, Meeting of Marina Committee, wherein the Marina Committee, Councilmen Herkner, Petersen, Assistant City Manager How- ard Ullrich, Planning Director Dick Wilkinson, and Mr. MOrton discussed the proposed new entrance and parking, layout of the Marina along with taking soil tests and landscaping the area. MOtion made by Commissioner Stuart that meeting be adjourned, seconded by Commission~r Schutz.
