<br />10 <br /> <br />Mrs. Travers appeared questioning when the work is going to pro- <br />gress at Stafford Park. Red MOrton stated the ~quipment is <br />on its way and when it arrives it will be put in. Bill Shew- <br />ry said as far as construction goes, however, money is not <br />appropriated. <br /> <br />Report will be made at the April meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />REP ORT ON THE FRIENDLY ACRES PROJECT. <br /> <br />REPORT ON THE BASEBALL MEETING. <br /> <br />Report will be made at April meeting. Mr. Morton reported <br />a letter from Dr. Turner of Sequoia High stating that Seq- <br />uoia field could not be used this year due to reseeding. <br />Commissioner Whitmore suggested a commdttee be appôinted <br />to meet with Jerry Williams of Sequoia to see what can be <br />worked out for the 1965 season and report back at the April <br />meeting. <br /> <br />COVERING THE CREEK AT COMMUNITY PARK. <br /> <br />Commissioner Beals stated the Engineer's estimate to do the <br />job is approximately $133,000. Commissioner Stuart quest- <br />ioned the size pipe needed to do the job, if Commission could <br />cut down the 'size and amount. Commissioner Tornell stated <br />, that as far as the cost goes, a good deal of it would depend <br />on the bond issue, that if the bond issue goes through, Comm- <br />ission will not need the money. Red Morton stated that Comm- <br />unity Park has been here since 1948 and is a disgrace to the <br />city. <br /> <br />Discussion followed on Recreation Building. Commissioner <br />Stuart stated that the building must go forward, that in <br />1956 this subject was discussed, but nothing was ever done. <br />Recreation Director stated he thinks the Recreation Building <br />should corne first, then the Creek. Commissioner Beals stat- <br />ed that project could be put on a 4 to 5 year basis and that <br />the first stage should be in the up-corning budget. Commiss- <br />ion felt that the Commdttee should proceed with plans for <br />complete creek covering. Commissioner Knecht suggested that <br />a Committee, Alyn Beals, Jack Stuart and Doris Thompson con- <br />front the City Manager about this subject getting on the <br />Council Agenda for discussion. <br /> <br /> <br />CONSIDERATION OF A CONSULTANT FOR PREPARATION OF MASTER PLAN FOR <br />REDWOOD CITY PARK AND RECREATION FACILITIES. <br /> <br />Commissioner Whitmore stated he talked with Professor Will- <br />iamson from Stanford University about obtaining students to <br /> <br />
