l.S COMMENTS FROM PARK & RECRFATION COMMISSIONERS, PARK SUPERINTENDENT, RECRFATION DIRECTOR PERTAINING TO OLD OR NEW BUSINESS: Discussion of plot of ground - property at Hilton and Elm Streets, four blocks from Chestnut Street. This property is going to be put up for sale. Commissioner Beals suggested we write the City Manager letter, with map attached, and suggest having a Real Estate Committee of the Council look at the property. Commissioner Thompson complimented Park Superintendent, Rec- reation Director, Sally Hartman and Don Dimitratos for the wonderful cooperation and the enthusiastic way their depart- ment helped with the annual flower and art show held at the Veterans Building; and that possibly next year it can be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Discussion on water faucet facilities at William Goggin Parkway. Commissioner Knecht stated the purchase of land adjacent to Taft School should stay before the Commission and some plans should be made to continue with this project. Chairman Beals said he felt a master plan for the development of the beautification of Veterans Blvd. should be developed and presented to the Commission. Motion was made by Commiss- ioner Thompson that Mr. Balzarini be requested to develop such a plan, seconded by Jack stuart, and carried. Chairman Beals appointed Jasper Sipes to serve as. the Park & Recreation Commission representative on the Redwood City Marina Committee. MOtion made by Doris Thompson that the Commission write lett- er of protest to City Manager and the City Council objecting to the continued refusal of the City to recognize the need of funds to be used for the development of Stulsaft Park, sec- onded by Louise Tornell and carried. MOtion made by Commissioner Knecht that a letter be written to the City Council recommending that the new field house for the San Francisco 4gers be dedicated as the Morabito Memorial Field House in honor of the late Anthony and Victor Morabito, seconded by Commissioner Whitmore, and carried. Motion made by Doris Thompson that Mr. Red MOrton and Pasco Balzarini consult with the city officials and the Real Estate Commission to see if the Chestnut Street playground park could not be sold and moved to a different location on Elm Street near Hilton, seconded by James Knecht and carried.
