Said Redwood City might prove better area than San <br />Francisco because of weather conditions. <br /> <br />Chairman Beals complimented Park Superintendent Balzarini on winning <br />of placque award at Fiesta for overall condition of plants and shrubs <br />in display and Third Award in City Park category. <br /> <br />Chairman Beals suggested an ordinance for Redwood City for preserv- <br />ation of oak trees. Said City should have some sort of control with <br />the possibility of the City doing the work of spraying with the own- <br />er paying the bill as too many big oaks were being lost each year <br />because of neglect. Education of property owners on care of oaks <br />should be of great value. Mr. Balzarini suggested writing League <br />of, California Cities' office in Oakland on this type of control <br />ordinance. <br /> <br />Park Superintendent Balzarini reported he had removed 16 lIillegalll <br />palm trees from parkway of property at corner of Clinton and Hop- <br />kins sts. and replace them with 7 Illegal" trees.
