Chairman Beals voted aye to break the tie and the motion passed on a 3 to 2 vote. 16 Chairman Beals reported on a telephone call from Mrs. Barbara Carpenter concerning suggested beautification and planting at the Easter Cross property. Referred to Staff. Ass't. City Manager, Fenton Mee: Reported on the purchase of additional property to enlarge the Corporation Yard and that the Bay Road drainage program's original estimates had been 35% lower than the actual bids received. Chairman Beals read a letter from Cheryn Meh1, aged 15, to Pasco Balzarini which had been referred to the Comm- ission, wherein Miss Meh1 requested improved playground equipment at Maddux Park. Secretary Thompson was direct- ed to thank Miss Meh1 for her interest and that the Comm- ission hoped to have plans to improve Maddux Park for in- clusion in next year's budget. Mr. Balzarini advised the Commission that its stationery was ready. Secretary Thompson asked permission to re-check on pro- gress or disposition of previous Commissions requests to the City Manager as follows: Stop or slow signs in vic- inity of Stafford Park: direction signs to City parks: Rules & Regulations for Commission meetings. On motion by Mr. Knecht, seconded by Mr. Stuart, and passed, Mrs. Thompson was authorized to check,on the above items. Mr. Mee offered to check on these previous requests for the secretary.
