Mayor Herkner stated he had no recollection of this <br />metter having been brought to Councîl attention. <br /> <br />Commissioner Whitmore displayed additional sketches received, <br />including one by Mr. Ralph Ledesma, and said several more were <br />expected. Mrs. Henderson suggested the City Manager's office <br />be contacted as some-- discussion was- being held on other uniform <br />signing' for city. Mr. Whitmore will contact Mr. Ullrich and ad- <br />vise him of our interest.' ' <br /> <br />PARK LAND ACQUISITION: Mayor Herkner suggested that Commission <br />recommend securing of matching funds for'additional park land & <br />open space7 Mayor Herkner said that he had been serving on the- <br />ABAG'committee which has already processed over $60,000.00 of <br />requests so far, he suggested that ,RedWood City should take ad= <br />vantage of the matching funds program if possible and as soon as <br />possible as funds may be running out. <br /> <br />Commissioner Whitmore 'told of his'Land Acquisition Committee's <br />report and recommendations for future park and open space pro- <br />porty which had been sent to former City Manager Neal, following <br />receipt of which Mr. Neal had urged'that a park and recreation <br />master plan be secured as the first-step towards requesting <br />matching funds. Mãyor Herkner said it is not necessary for city <br />to have such a plan-- if plans are in a county plan and is elastic. <br /> <br />- - - - <br /> <br />Chairman Beals mentioned our recent recommendation for park land <br />purchase~of property in the Canyon 'Road area which he understood <br />City Manager Ullrich was working towards a tie in with County-- <br />Park and Recreation plans. It was recommended that the Commission <br />urge Mr. Ullrich to prepare proposals immediately for application <br />to ABAG for matching funds.
