Citizens. Committee meetings: Commissioner Thompson re- <br />ported that Redwood Shores sub-committee hadKIX met and voted <br />to recommend that the Winans report be approved for inclusion <br />into the General Plan and that any changes could corne after <br />it had been accepted. <br /> <br />b. It was reported that Comm- <br />issioners had attended both public hearings of the Planning <br />Commission but no recommendation would be made to accept the <br />proposed plan for the IIRecreation Element of the General P1ann <br />until the plan had been discussed with the Citizens Committee. <br /> <br />AGENDA 4 - STULSFT PARK: <br />a. RULES as revised by City Attorney-Doris Thompson. Mrs. <br />Thompson that she had carefully checked rules as revised <br />by City Attorney.s office and in no way had the intent been <br />changed, and that with the addition of the word "horses" to <br />Rule 3, she would recommend approval. <br /> <br />On motion of Commissioner Thompson, seconded by Commissioner <br />Gooding, it was voted to approve the uRules and Regulations <br />for Stu1saft Park", as revised by the City Attorney.s off- <br />ice, and with the addition of the word tthorses" to Rule 3, <br />Chairman Beals was authorized to sign them and forward to <br />the City Manager for approval. Passed. <br /> <br />b. ARBORETUM-ROTARY CLUB TREE GROWING PROGRAM-Doris Thompson: <br />Referring to the ~ec. 7, 1966, meeting when she mentioned an <br />arboretum project for Stulsaft P~rk, Mrs. Th8mpson told of <br />the availability of some 700 trees from the Rotary Club- <br />some of which were ready for transplanting now-which could <br />be used to develop a tltrees of the wor1dll type of arboretum <br />at the park: she told that the trees had been planted from <br />seeds received from other parts of the world-Japan, New <br />Zealand, France, Portugal, England, Denmark, etc.-in exhcan, <br />for redwood seeds shipped from RCi that the seed method was <br />the only way that trees from other parts of the world could <br /> <br />be propagated as plants cannot be shipped in; that she and <br />Mr. Balzarini had visited Dr. Torn poore1s home in Atherton <br />to see the trees, most of which were planted in gallon cans; that <br /> <br /> <br />. . <br />-----.-..----.--.---_ou_-_u_--.----..----..--......'__n....--_..._n- __.--m_,_,- .,' -----..--.-..-.-.----,..--...- n _n.n.....--' <br /> <br />,"--- - -.....--..- .,--.. -----~.---_...... - -, ---'--------...-.
