Winans as proposed by Planning Director, <br />Ken Schroeter, to the R.C. Planning Commission and approved by <br />them on January 31, 1967 - presentation'by Ken Schroeter: <br /> <br />Chairman Beals explained that the Park & Recreation Commission <br />had deferred acting on.the Plan until the brochureswer~ in-the <br />hands of the Citizens" Committee and a verbal presentation made <br />to them-by Mr. Schroeter. Mr. Bea1ลก asked that questions not <br />be asked of-the speaker unti1.his-presentation had been completed. <br /> <br />Chairman Beals introduced Mr. Schroeter, Planning Director for <br />the city who proceeded to gave a summary of the Parks and Rec- <br />reation Element to the General Plan, following whibh, the Chair- <br />man declared a five minute recess. <br /> <br />- . - - <br /> <br />The meeting was reconvened at 8:35. Chairman Beals thanked <br />~ Mr. Schroeter for his presentation and for his excellent de- <br />velopment of the Plan and told those present that it was sched- <br />uled to be before the Council for a public hearing on Apr.lOth. <br /> <br />QUESTIONS: <br />Mrs. Betty Travers ( Citizens I ' Committee-Parks & p.1aygr.ou~ds) <br />asked: <br />1. Re land on Hudson st. adjacent to YMCA as recommended <br />by sub-committee II Chairman Beals said Commission has re- <br />commended that property be investigated. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />2. Re capital outlay funds being used for a down payment <br />of this property? city Manager Ullrich explained that a <br />large portion of these funds had been earmarked for use as <br />IImatching funds" for purchase of the Canyon Road"property, <br />the Flag property adjacent to Community Park, and three <br />parcels in the Redwood Shores project, "application for <br />which is in the final stages for presenting to the Federal <br />Government through ABAG by the middle of April; that appli- <br />cation would take from 6-8 weeks to process and that if <br />application is approved and a IIproceed orderll is issued <br />that the city could go ahead and '-purchase property with <br />the understanding that when funds became available the <br />purchasing-agency would be reimbursed.
