BALZARINI: <br /> <br />MOTION: Commissioner Doris Thompson moved that a Special Meet- <br />ing of the Commission be held on May 17,1967, at 8 a.m. at the <br />Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, to discuss <br />"Present status 1967~68 Budget requests-Director of Recreation <br />Morton: Park Supt. Balzarini", seconded by Commissioner Jim Will- <br />iams, and passed. (5-4-67) Secretary Thompson is to advise <br />Council and other city officials and the Tribune of the Special <br />Meeting. <br /> <br />9 - RESOLUTION RE CODE CHANGE OF COMMISSION MEETING PLACE - DORIS <br />THOMPSON: ~s. Thompson cited need. of code change pertaining to <br />meeting place of the Commission from 1455 Madison Avenue to 1400 <br />Roosevelt Avenue and of her discussing the matter with City Attor- <br />ney Gardella. Mrs. Thompson read the suggested change as present- <br />ed to her by Mr. Gardella. <br /> <br />. MOTION: Commissioner Ann Gooding moved to affirm the action of <br />Secretary Thompson in requesting through the City Attorney an ord- <br />inance amendment regarding meeting loc~tion of the Park and Recre- <br />ation Commission, seconded by Commissioner Dixon Arnett, and <br />passed. MOTION: Commissioner Ann Gooding moved <br />that Redwood City adopt the RED ROSE as the official flower of. <br />the city, seconded by commdssioner Doris Thompson, and passed. <br />(5-4-67) <br /> <br />~s. Gooding told that the peninsula Hills Junior Women's Club <br />would be selling red roses downtown on opening day of the Cent- <br />ennial, May 25th, and that the roses were being donated by the <br />Professional Flower Growers, with profits going to the Centennial. <br /> <br />Commissioner Stuart urged support of the forthcoming Centennial <br />Dinners on May 25th and said that Commissioner Williams was the <br />coordinating chairman of the ticket sales.
