REPORT ON USE OF FIELD AT COMMUNITY PARK BY CALIFORNIA <br />CLIPPERS SOCCER TEAM: ALFRED MORTON, PASCO BALZARINI: <br /> <br /> <br />Chairman Whitmore read staff reports re use of city facili- <br />ties at Community Park by California Clippers. Reports were <br />discussed. No Action taken. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />HOOVER POOL PROGRESS: <br /> <br />Q. <br /> <br />ALFRED MORTON: <br /> <br />Mr. Morton said the contractors were hoping for completion <br />by August 1; 1967. An appropriate opening cere~ony. was dis- <br />cussed. Mr. Morton said his staff would work on a program. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br /> <br />Commissioner Stuart gave report for.. Bo~d$ Commi ttee. <br />Methods of procedure were discussed. Mr. Stuart-said Alyn <br />Beals 'has agreed to chair the Citizens' Committee but asked <br />that directions and use of this committee come from the <br />Commission. Commissioner Arnett felt now is the time to <br />re-activate the Citizens' Committee to. work on priorities <br />SO that a price tag can be established. Chairman Whitmore <br />asked that the Bonds Committee work on a system of proced- <br />ure and report back at the next meeting. <br /> <br />4. ROUNDTABLE - Discusson on old or new business by Comm- <br />issioners, Director of Recreation and Park Superintendent: <br /> <br />Commissioner Gooding expressed a desire to see a variety <br />of different types and colors of play equipment in our <br />parks. Mrs. Gooding said she had thirteen girls who had <br />volunteered to assist the Recreation Department with the <br />day camp sign-ups for next year. <br /> <br />Commissioner Stuart expressed belief that it was helpful <br />to have commissioners at budget hearing sessions with the <br />Council and recommended that' an active budget committee be <br />established to work with the staff on budget problems for <br />the coming year. Commissioners concurred.
