(8-8-67 <br />to City Manager Ullrich c/o Mr. Burger) <br /> <br />PERSONAL APPEARANCES: 1-Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lahuta, 50 King St. <br />immediately adjacent to north property line of Stafford Park: <br />told of deliberate acts of malicious mischief to their property- <br />debris being thrown on property, back yard used as picnic ground, <br />neighbors reporting fires set on Lahuta property, bicycle and <br />automobile parking in driveway, etc. . <br /> <br />Commissioners noted ei-ghteen foot ubuffer strip" between play <br />area and adjoining properties; cyclone fencing; pressure from <br />neighbors to improve playground areas at Stafford park; sugg- <br />ested that malicious mischief problem is a police problem and <br />perhaps a few arrests of offenders might help solve the problem: <br />concurred that Mr. and Mrs. Lahuta needed help on these matters. <br />Mr. Balzarini was asked to arrange a meeting with Chief Faulstich <br />for next week and to so advise Mrs. Lahuta, Commissioner" Gooding, <br />Red Morton. Mr. Balzarini is also to attend the me-eting. <br /> <br />2 - Former Commissioner, Morrie Schutz, paid'a'visit to the <br />commission meeting. Mr. Schutz had recently returned from Pan- <br />ama and South America on assignment by the Navy Dept. .Mr. <br />Schutz resigned from the Commission in Feb. 1965. <br /> <br />AGENDA: <br />1. BOND ISSUE REPORT - Dixon Arnett told of meeting held <br />with City Manager Ullrich, Jack Stuart also being present; <br />concerns of timing of a possible bond issuer priorities for <br />project, etc. Commissioners suggested a golf course should <br />probably be considered for priority number one. Mr. Arnett <br />said committee would present suggested priority list at the <br />Sept. meeting and suggested that all commdssioners work up <br />their own priority list for comparison. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />ROUNDTABLE: <br /> <br />ICo~~ss~~~er- Knec~t - asked re rose garden project suggest- <br />ing that concrete plans be started right away so that plants <br />could be blooming by 1968. <br />Chairman Whitmore appointed James Knecht and Doris Thompson <br />'to attend the Sept. 12th meeting of the Peninsula Rose Society <br />along with Mr. Balzarini. . <br /> <br />
