<br />Mr. Ullrich explaìned application for county participation, 25%
<br />in purchase of Canyon Road and "Flagg" property ($78,000, plus
<br />real estate fees of $3,OOO-based on fair market value; and $16,000
<br />plus real estate fees of $700: Total $97,000) or $24,425. Comm-
<br />issioner Gooding asked who had proposed the IIspecific uses" as
<br />noted in letter for Canyon Road Property? Mr. Ullrich said these
<br />proposals had been included in application for federal funds but
<br />that city was not necessarily bound to them.

<br />Mr. Ullrich said that property on Valota Road near Armory road
<br />entrance was up for sale and had been offered to the city for
<br />purchase. The Commission expressed interest in obtaining the
<br />property for additional expansion of Community Park and suggest-
<br />ed that Mr. Ullrich investigate cost: ~

<br />Council approval, park to be completely installed by opening
<br />date of Unit 1 model homes, August 15th, and that ~orking draw-
<br />ings w~re to be submitted to Mr.. Balzarini for review on or
<br />about April 1st, construction planned to start in early ~une.

<br />Discussion which followed included: that Master Plan was tech-
<br />nically a re-pesign- of the plan reviewed for the CommissiQn by
<br />Planning Director Schroeter at a previous meeting (12-6-67) when
<br />commissioners had expressed considerable concern over facets of
<br />the plan: concerns on some of the used designed into the present
<br />plan, 'and their locations; lack of communication between park
<br />and recreation staffs and Commission before approval by Plann-
<br />ing Commission.

<br />Mr. Ullrich advised that present plan had already been approved
<br />by Planning Commission, that he was not aware that Commission
<br />had not been consulted, that plans could be reviewed and changed
<br />if ideas were presented which could be sust~ined against lithe
<br />logic of professionall.andscapingll¡ and that he would set up a
<br />procedure to see that the Commission and Staff were notified.
