Personal Appearances:- - Councilman Dixon Arnett expressed his appreciation to the commiss- ion members for the experience ,of being a fellow commissioner prior to his election to the council. Mrs. Percy Wilson, Friendly Acres, complimented the commission on Spinas Playground and urged an additional park in the Friendly Acres area. Agenda Items for Discussion and/or Recommendation: On motion of Commissioner'Williams, seconded by Commissioner Whit- more, Agenda items #6, #8, #9, and #5, were considered in that order for the first four items for discussion at tonights meet- ing. Passed. Agenda 6: NEIGHBORHOOD PARK PLAN #1 - Redwood Shores-Discussion -and possible suggestions for review: Item had been ruled not an agenda item for the meeting of April 3,1968. Mr. Schroeter was asked to explain the process of development of the proposed de- sign to this stage (See minutes of 12/6/67 and 4/3/68) when con- cerns had been expressed by commission and staff on the "inside- type" park design as well as some of the uses designed into the plan. Following discussion, Chairman Stuart summerized that the Park & Recreation Commission would like to be brought into the planning of the subdivider re future neighborhood parks and recreation areas: that as a result of this, we would appreciate the cont- inued support on their behalf for us so that we can support them in behalf of the parks and recreation areas in following the park and recreation planning which they have done in taking into con- sideration the physical problems of the sites as well as the con- cerns of commissioners and staff: and that as a result we could invite the Leslie property people-Rodgers, Johnson, or DMJM, etc.-to be a part of our meeting so that similar disagreements or discussions could be avoided.
