Copy-Ordinance No. 525 (adeopted August 6, 1945), establish- <br />ing a Park & Rec. Commission - received at meeting. <br /> <br />Personal Appearances:- - <br />Councilman Dixon Arnett expressed his appreciation to the commiss- <br />ion members for the experience ,of being a fellow commissioner <br />prior to his election to the council. <br /> <br />Mrs. Percy Wilson, Friendly Acres, complimented the commission <br />on Spinas Playground and urged an additional park in the Friendly <br />Acres area. <br /> <br />Agenda Items for Discussion and/or Recommendation: <br />On motion of Commissioner'Williams, seconded by Commissioner Whit- <br />more, Agenda items #6, #8, #9, and #5, were considered in that <br />order for the first four items for discussion at tonights meet- <br />ing. Passed. <br /> <br />Agenda 6: NEIGHBORHOOD PARK PLAN #1 - Redwood Shores-Discussion <br />-and possible suggestions for review: Item had been ruled not an <br />agenda item for the meeting of April 3,1968. Mr. Schroeter was <br />asked to explain the process of development of the proposed de- <br />sign to this stage (See minutes of 12/6/67 and 4/3/68) when con- <br />cerns had been expressed by commission and staff on the "inside- <br />type" park design as well as some of the uses designed into the <br />plan. <br /> <br />Following discussion, Chairman Stuart summerized that the Park & <br />Recreation Commission would like to be brought into the planning <br />of the subdivider re future neighborhood parks and recreation <br />areas: that as a result of this, we would appreciate the cont- <br />inued support on their behalf for us so that we can support them <br />in behalf of the parks and recreation areas in following the park <br />and recreation planning which they have done in taking into con- <br />sideration the physical problems of the sites as well as the con- <br />cerns of commissioners and staff: and that as a result we could <br />invite the Leslie property people-Rodgers, Johnson, or DMJM, <br />etc.-to be a part of our meeting so that similar disagreements <br />or discussions could be avoided. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
