<br /> <br /> <br />199 <br /> <br />Agenda 8: Canyon Road - Presentation~and àiscuss£on - City Mana- <br />ger Ullrich: Mr. Ullrich advised that agreement had been reached <br />with San Mateo County to participate in purchase of Canyon Road <br />property, and the Thorn property-Community Park area, to 25% of <br />the cost, plus l~~ of closing costs-title insurance, etc.-to ar " <br />maximum of $26,500: that with this financial assistance from Co- <br />unty, that city is adequately funded fQr these properties based <br />on fiar market value: that maximum City could pay under the law <br />is the fair market value; that Canyon Road property consists of <br />2.8 acres, approx. 121,968 sq. ft., with an 80' frontage on Canyon <br />Road, and fair market value of $78,000: that County contribution <br />will have no strings attached to it as to use or development; that <br />the 2.8 acres would be considered as phase 1 of the total project; <br />phase 2 would be securing authorizat~on from Hetch-Hetchy for land <br />use-permit: and phase 3 would be acquiring balance of 20 acres <br />in the canyon draw above the Hetch-Hetch r/w. <br /> <br />Canyon Road Project - additiona11and acquisition, etc.: <br />Commissioner Williams moved that we recommend to Council that <br />City ~ager Uilrich proceed with determining values of adjacent <br />properties previously recommended for .the Canyon Road park project <br />and that land use rights be secured from the S.F. Water Dept. for <br />their Hetch-Hetchy r/w, seconded by Commissioner Whitmore, and <br />passed, Commissioners Knecht and Gooding being noted absent. (5/9/68). <br /> <br />Agenda 9: Tahoe Proposal - City Manager Ullrich. <br />Mr. Ullrich referred to letter from Mr". .Bramwell, Park & Recreation <br />Director of San Jose, re that City's lease and use permit with the <br />Feàera1 Government for 21 acres of the El Dorado National "Forst <br />lands which they had planned to develop into a family campsite <br />"park" for their community, and that after a master plan had been <br />prepared for the property, and awel1 dug, etc., San Jose had se- <br />cured a camping area from the City of Oakland which was completely <br />ready for use7 that property involved-is approx. 1/2 mile from <br />Lake Tahoe and about 3/4 of a mile from Fallen Leaf Lake, and that <br />San Jose had an investment of $7,500 which they would want reim- <br />bursement forJ that c~psite property would be available for bid <br />to communities in the San Jose area and others. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />Commissioner Wi1liams.moved that we recommend to council that the <br />city Manager be authorized to investigate the City of San Jose <br />family campsite property at Lake Tahoe with the idea of Redwood <br />City taking over their use permit from the federal government for <br />the 21 acres involved and bidding on improvements made by the City <br />of San Jose, seconded by Commissioner Thompson, and passed.- <br />Commissioners Knecht and Gooding being noted absent.
