C. PLANNING --DEPARTMENT : <br /> <br />Mr. McClellan provided llx16 size copies of tentative map <br />dated 6-26-68 on which parle areas were indicated in green. <br />Discussion included information that subdivision approximated <br />220 acres and would include single family dwellings as well as <br />multiple family and town-house units to a projected population <br />density of 5,000¡ proposed landscaped and visual areas and park <br />areas to a total of approx. 16 acres with a park area of approx. <br />5 acres being indicated adjacent to a proposed school site; <br />that no information was available as to what type uses are <br />planned for indicated park si~es; that size is important if to <br />provide for active recreation-ball fields, etc:that early <br />plans for Redwood Peninsula portion of Shores had included an <br />approx. 35 acre community park wh~ch would have provided suff- <br />icient property for active recreation area. Commission concern <br />included that sufficient park lands might be secured by trading <br />from park open space area near uRecreational ~Reserven, or from <br />uland bank", for adding to presently proposed 5 acre park near <br />school site, with Commission suggesting that -if lots 5 thru 12 <br />and 17 thru 25 were 'eliminated adjacent to the school site and <br /> <br />the school s~te "turned around II and facing Peninsula Parkway I <br />that adequate land could be afforded the recreation and park <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
