Mr. <br />stuart said that matter would be before Planning Commission on Nov. <br />12th for public hearing. <br />~~.Jn lR.O£~~;-~s~ displayed maps of the General Plan as proposed and in- <br />cluded in his presentation that: some properties on Redwood Penin- <br />sula do not belong to Leslie and there~ore Leslie is not suggesting <br />land used for them: explained major street, waterway, bay, and ten- <br />insula system~ ~ommunity'center adjacent to junio~ high school: 2, <br />sub-community centers, each containing commercial areas with other <br />facilities to make it a focal point: 5 elementary schools to ~erve <br />homes within a quarter mile ar~ai discussed park, recreation, and <br />open space design-waterway with 2 la~es' marina, part of commercial <br />and recreational area to be developed with motels, restaurants and <br />special shops: t~a~ in conjunction with ~chools would be neighbor- <br />hood parks and main park as part of community center, with total <br />park system linked together by ~inear park sys~~m, a.series o~ parks <br />being tied together so one could walk or bicycle through them; a <br />system best for ~icycles and some for equestrian trails, noting that <br />it is hqped to develop a horse trail system that would tie all of~ <br />Leslie lands together and possibly to the hill system for horsemen~ <br />that bicycle trail system because of flat terrain, the only climb <br />of any size beIng over bridges, would tie commercial area to res- <br />idential area and would have impact on need for second car; that <br />rental stables could probably be provided somewhere in project~ that <br />General Plan doesn't give dimensions of such things as parks, etc., <br />although mention was made of green swaths 200-300' wide and possibly <br />500-600' long~ severa¡ 4 acre parks: hiking areas around perimeter of <br />peninsula, etc: that areas defined on maps are general locations with <br />refined plans coming later. <br /> <br />Commission questions and discussion included; 'question of horses <br />in area; larger park lands with'room for high activity areas~ <br /> <br /> <br />- -- - ._. . . u.. -.. -.....- --' ........0..._. .-... ~ _._.--._..._-,._.--_...~. -_.__._..._.._...__.._.._.----_n..__--_..._.....__.--_._-~._----_.._._-_.~._...__._._-_..---_.---_.---w-~.__..--_.._-.-----~.- <br />
