(A t the June <br />meeting, this item was continued to August.) <br /> <br />3 - PLAYGROUND - GEMCO ARE.i\ - Artie _~ee 1~10rgan, Chairman. <br /> <br />Commissioners protested the delayed action of obtaining use <br />of the IILeB1anc property" for a temporary park-playground at <br />1326 Hancock street stressing that it had been hoped that this <br />project, so badly needed for the area, could be completed and <br />in use before now. -~-~ - <br /> <br />Commissioner Morgan told of meeting with Mr. Burget and with <br />'property owner but that no further information or action had <br />been forthcoming. <br /> <br />commissioner Whitmore advised that Mr. LeBlanc had agreéd to <br />imme~iate city use of property with details being worked out <br />1a~er: that. it had been expected that the matter would be <br />immediately turneq _o~er to-the City_Attorney to be worked out. <br /> <br /> <br />Commissioner Thompson explained that the project was a IItemp- <br />oraryll-park, i.e. when and if circumstances did not warrant <br />its continuing use that the equipm~nt could be moved to another <br />city location - as since 1964 -the area had been zoned other <br />than residential although there is presently several apartment <br />house complexes and a number of single family dwellings: that <br />some approximately $1,500 had been offéred by two service - <br />clUbs to help on equipment purchase. <br /> <br />~~. Ullrich said he would have City Attorney work it out and <br />prepare a right of entry agreement: secure insurance coverage <br />to relieve owner of liability: advise Mr. Balzarin~ when ready <br />to go-ahead. <br /> <br />- .. <br /> <br />Chairman Knecht said that the Commission Committee had done <br />its job and it was-up to the city staff, to get the project <br />going.
