Ribera advised that bids had come-în too high - $11 per <br />line ft.-for- fencing behind parkway l~ndscaping and that tney <br />would be going to Council on Monday-for approval for a different <br />type installation of the kemmite treated redwood fencing, which <br />although it would look like the previous planned fence, would <br />permit installation at perhaps $6 to $8 per lin. ft.: redwood <br />materials would not be stained but allowed to weather. <br /> <br />..~ <br /> <br />r~. Ribera described types of street tree plantings for sub- <br />divisions I and 2 such as California peppers, eucalyptus, <br /> <br /> <br />- - <br /> <br />New Zealand' Xmas trees, canary island palm, aleppo pine, <br />~~nterey cypress, carob, pistache, etc. and showed master tree <br />planting plan. <br /> <br />~ 1~. Ullrich said Bridge parkway bridge span would be high-- <br />enough to permit sailboats to go under; that bridge estimated <br />cost is approx. $1,200,000; that he had been advised that <br />Belmont School District was expected to sign a contract for <br />property for the first school before the end of the month- <br />school site is adjacent to ~~rlin park site. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion included: that it is difficult to grow anything <br />under California pepper trees: that some of trees suggested <br />- are on city condemned list but may be approved for the Shores <br />area; that there is still concern that restroom facilities <br />will not be available at some park areas near playground <br /> <br />- -', <br />- - -' , <br />
