RECREATION DEPARTMENT - Commissioner Thompson said that inquiry had been made to Commissioner Morgan regarding swim team comp-, etition at Hoover Pool. ~~. MOrton said he would like to go into the schools this Fall and take a survey as to how many would be interested' in such a team. Mrs. Thompson also been asked by Mrs. Morgan to advise that she had had inquiry re es-. tablishing a playground on property of the Woodside Methodist Church and had suggested the procedure of getting on the agenda. Commissioner stuart, seconded by Commissioner Whitmore, moved that ~he reports of the Park and Recreation Departments be accepted. Passed, Commissioners Coffis and MOrgan being noted, absent. Chairman Knecht complimented the Park Department on the out- standing entry at the Fiesta and asked Commissioner Thompson to read a resolution commending the department. Commissioner Stuart, seconded by Commissioner Whitmore, moved to adopt the resolution commending the department on the Fiesta Garden, as amended, and ins'tructed the Secretary to mail copies of the resolution to the Council, City Manager, and staff mem-. bers involved, passed. Pools open seven days a week. Hoover usage has gone up.
