Discussion was had on the urgent need for restroom facilities at this playgÐound and of the burden presently being placed on the firemen at station #3 to provide and maintain toilet facil- ities for the public users of the playgrounds and of the newly installed tennis courts: that each time a new facility has been added the area use has dramatically increased and is to the point that we can no longer expect the fire department to put up with the burden of restroom use for outsiders and the att- endant problems it involves; that budget request for funds in the present budget for this facility had been deleted. Commissioner Stuart moved to urgently request that emergency funds be authorized by Council in the amount of $8,900 for installation of restroom facilities at Spinas Playground at a site between the playground areas and the tennis courts and of the same type as planned for Mezes Park - building with pitched tupe roof with shingles, to conform to neighborhood - seconded by Conunissioner Thompson, and passed, Commissioners Coffis and Morgan being noted absent. u~~ qf ~m~~x ~rope~ty fo~ ~ennis cour~~~ Commissioner stuart moved that a letter of thanks be sent to Ampex Corp. for allowing the 6' tennis courts encroachment on their property, seconded by Commissioner Thompson, and passed, Commissioners Coffis and Morgan being noted absent. 7 - STULSAFT PARK: I 1 "'- L - This item was at the request of Commissioner Thompson, and was with regards to "Letter to the Editorll of the Tribune by day- camp supervisors and re some of conditions which exist at Stul- saft-sleeping in park, vandalism, etc. Director of Recreation MOrton said that letter had been written without the knowledge of the department and that supervisors have been asked that in the future any such comments be cleared through the department; that reason for trimming of branches had been explained to the day-camp supervisors: that day-camp attendance was way down this year.
