<br />Ii <br /> <br />291 <br /> <br /> <br />Secretary Thompson said she had received a call from Mrs. Rhiner <br />regarding the letter and was advised, that the Commission <br />had not received it. Mrs. Rhiner delivered a copy to the <br />Secty. this afternoon (Oct. 1st) and explained the request <br />(liwouid appreciate advice on the possibility of developing <br />a neighborhood park on our land.") as pertaining to a church <br />youth group project to install a playground on the Church <br />property at the Alameda de las Pulgasand Woodside Road. <br />Mrs. Thompson explained that the project was one on provate <br />property, etc., but that the letter would be read to Comm- <br />ission. After discussion, the Commission took no action <br />on the matter. <br />10 - From Park Department - clippings from American City Maga- <br /> <br />- - <br /> <br />zine, Sept. 69 issue, re 1150 Miniparks in 3 weeks", in <br />Memphis; and "Under Expressway Parkll. (Rec'd. at meeting) <br />Secty. will maintain file on mini and instant parks and pro- <br />vide copies to sub-committee; <br />11 - Pictures of LeBlanc Mini Park dedication - Sept. 20th, and <br /> <br />. - <br /> <br />clippings of special coverage of the dedication by the R.C. <br />Tribune-editorial, stories and pictures; <br />12 - Monthly report - Recreation Dept. Secretary noted state- <br />ment that Community Activity Building is approaching IO~~ <br />of available usage. See Agenda 14. <br /> <br />- - <br /> <br /> <br />13 - Secretary reported that she had been asked to provide a <br />, copy of our Bond Priority list to the Cibizens Advisory <br />Committee, when list became available. <br /> <br />PERSONAL APPEARANCES: <br />Mrs. Ruth Olds, Dean of Girls-Sequoia High, said she would <br />be working with students who have chosen Commission as their <br />particular interest under the G.A.P. program, and noted that <br />two of students present-Joe Ziganto and Martin Mills, would <br /> <br /> <br />, . . ' <br />be asslgned to the CommlSSlon but that students present were <br />there in an informal capacity tonight. <br /> <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Chairman Knecht welcomed the students and advised that the <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />Secretary would send them minutes of the meeting. Commiss- <br />ioner Whitmore encouraged the young people to get involved <br />in Commission activities to the extent that they would en- <br />joy them.
