Total: $142,500. <br /> <br />Cost of Covered Culvert: 32 face feet per ft. x$5-$160/ft; <br />32 face feet per ft x $8-$250/ft....1500'x$160-$240-$375,OOO-- <br />cost would depend on size required and how contractor views the <br />job; excavation for culvert -3,000 cu.yds.x$l/yd - $3,000; fill <br />required for stream bed - 6,000 yds x$3/yd -$18,000; outlet <br />structure - allow $2,000. Mr. Sue showed slides of park possibi- <br />lities ~i~ could pertain to Co~~ity. ~. Sue displayed 3 <br />alternate sches for development; IIA~-culverted with no addition- <br />al properties acquired, all within city owned property: "BII- <br />showing waterway treatment through site with portion of creek <br />covered and acquisition of property for a bowling green; IIC" - <br />showed areas extended to Jefferson. <br /> <br /> <br />In Mr. Sue's presentation was included: that park site is badly <br />fragmented by the stream that flows through it and the way it is <br />graded and that parking generally cuts up the site and there is <br />great conflict between automobile and pedestrian patterns through <br />the park;; relocation of a baseball field by elimination of park- <br />ing areas-new location would give a good hitting radius: moving <br />of baseball field would allow addition of two tennis courts to a <br />total of four; acquisition of adjacent properties could provide <br />an additional four tennis courts if needed; suggested tennis <br />courts are easier for programming if grouped together; allowed <br />for expansion of recreation center building (gym) for two, four <br />ball inside handball courts: allowed area for planned future ex- <br />pansion of Communities Activities Building-auditorium; on one <br />scheme there was no change shown in the National Guard Building- <br />or the other two it was recognized that Armory building might be <br />desirable to turn into a teen center and Armory parking area <br />could be used for horseshoe courts and additional parking area... <br />noted that the Armory building was a large free span building <br />that could have changeable floors and would be nicely suited to <br />teen activity; Veterans". Memorial Building would remain except <br />for a possible addition of a terrace area - now being used by <br />veterans groups, meetings, etc., and senior citizens and could <br />well be a senior citizens building and the b~li~ green aM <br />terrace would relate to this use; <br />
