It was noted that Commissio~ at ~ts last meeting had rec- <br />ommended to Council ~hat a joint venture agreement be entered <br />into with various agencies to provide multi-use facilities for <br />the IITarget Areall. <br /> <br />Commissioner Coffis entered meeting at 8:25. <br /> <br />7 - #~~q~T~~ C~9mI~'+:~E}~ ::~I.Rr~~g:r~~~s ~1!e,E.9.~~I~~' ~.P9.Z: i~!l~Ç_. ~ JAq~E¿1J 'hch!_l1l~ <br />Commissioner Thompson said meeting'had been held on Oct. 27th with <br />full committee present; that it had been confirmed that a great <br />many capital outlay requests had been turned down, and one re-in~ <br />stated; that both park and recreation departments in several in- <br />stances were. attempting to work out some urgently needed projects <br />,from supplies and services accounts and which will cause these <br />accounts to suffer; that committee is most concerned with under- <br />manned recreation and park staffs,the park department being part- <br />icularly understaffed according to norms of 4-5 acres perman as <br />we are operating on a 10 acres per man basis - ,twice the norm; <br />that park department is geared to maintenance only but has been <br />for a long time involved in heavy construction schedules; and <br />sufficient staff is available.
