ground surface. A temporary well will be constructed in each boring and a grab
groundwater sample will be collected.

;,. Each soil boring will be logged in the field utilizing the Unified Soil Classification
System. Office and field supervision for the drilling and logging operations will be
provided by a California registered civil engineer.

>- The temporary well materials will be removed and the boring will be abandoned to
the specifications of the San Mateo County permit requirements.

;,. Soil and groundwater samples will be containerized, labeled and transported to a
California certified laboratory for analysis under chain-of-custody proceedings.

>- Provide quality assurance/quality control (QAlQC) procedures during the field
activities. These procedures include decontaminating the sampling equipment prior
to, and following each use. Decontamination will consist of washing the equipment
in an Alconox@ solution, followed by a fresh water rinse, and subsequent distilled or
purified water rinse. Auger flights and drilling rods used during the advancement of
the borings will be steam cleaned prior to use on each subsequent boring. The soil
cuttings and decontamination fluids from drilling operations will be retained in 55-
gallon drums stored at the site pending the results of the laboratory analyses and
subsequent disposal following regulatory protocol.

c) Laboratory Testing

,..

The soil and groundwater samples will be submitted to the analytical laboratory for
analyses on a standard 10-working day turn-around-time. Geocon will instruct the
analytical laboratory to homogenize all the aerial deposited lead soil samples prior to
analysis.

.,. Approximately 99 soil samples will be analyzed for total lead following EP A Test
Method 6010.

.,. Approximately 12 soil samples will be analyzed for soil pH following EP A Test
Method 9045.

'.
r

Approximately 16 soil samples and 8 grab groundwater samples will be analyzed for
total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and
xylenes (BTEX), and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) by EP A Method 8020, and for
total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd) and motor oil (TPHmo) by EPA
:'v1ethod 8015, for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by EPA Method 8260, semi-
VOCs by EP A Method 8270, and for C1\1\1 17 metals by EP A Method 601017000
Series.

r Tht: analytical laboratory \-vi] be instructed to conduct soluble Icad analyses via the

City of Belmont - Routt' 1 () l/Rall tlJ II A Vi' IC Jfodificatiolls
Pro/wI'al - PS&E

() 7/{)ó/{){)
