Contractor shall select eligible HOME tenants from a pool of applicants <br />residing in the incorporated limits of the City of Redwood City no later than the date on <br />which construction will begin or in the case of vacant units, immediately upon <br />completion of rehabilitation work or the earliest date unit is habitable for occupancy. <br />Contractor shall include as part of its marketing efforts, outreach to homeless and at-risk <br />of being homeless households transitioning through one of the various homeless and self <br />sufficiency assistance programs operating in the City of Redwood City. City shall be <br />responsible for providing HAND with a pool of qualified applicants to fill HOME units. <br />If City cannot provide low-income applicants for vacant units, to the extent allowed by <br />law, including federal guidelines, HAND may extend marketing to San Mateo County <br />provided that the City gives HAND in writing a statement that no Redwood City <br />residents need the units. HAND will be required by the City to give preference to <br />eligible households of two or more people for occupancy of two or more bedroom units <br /> <br />2 <br />
