<br />12 - MONTHLY REPORTS:
<br />PARK DEPARTMENT: Commissioner Thompson inquired how much
<br />longer was it going to take to complete landscaping at Firehouse
<br />#4. Mr. Balzarini said as weather was a factor he could not
<br />preduct when it wou~d~ be completed.
<br />
<br />Commissioner Thompson asked about item 4 on report - "constructed
<br />drainage relief for area settling and puddling. We are weeding
<br />areas; but constantly falling behind due to manpower shortage
<br />and lack of equipment for weed abatement. II, particularly with
<br />respect to drainage problems at IINeighborhood Park #111. Mr.
<br />Balzarini sáid that unpredictable gound problems in this area had
<br />cost approx. $500 in repairs from his supplies and services acct.

<br />both the Park and Recreation~Departments, seconded by Commiss-
<br />ioner Thompson, and passed, Commissioner stuart being noted absent.

<br />13 - NOMINATING COMMITTEE - appointments:

<br />Chairman Knecht appointed Commissioner Coffis, as chairman, and
<br />Commissioners Morgan and Schenck to the Nominating Committee
<br />for their report at the March commission meeting.

<br />14 - ROUNDTABLE=Discussion on old or new business by Commissioners,
<br />Director ,of Recreation, Park Superintendent.
<br />Commissioner Morgan said that she felt honored to be nom-
<br />inated for a 1 year term on the board of the newly formed Calif.
<br />Assn. of Park & Recreation Commissioners and Board Members org-
<br />anization, and if elected would represent Redwood City to her best.
<br />Commissioner Thompson suggested, that due to CPRS Conference
<br />continuing through March 4th, that the March meeting be held on
<br />the second Wednesday, March 11th.
<br />Bill Paulson told that at staff meeting he had hearf from the
<br />Planning Director that the city is thinking of using one of the
<br />BCDC required lIeyesll (park-open space areas) for utilization of
<br />the installation of a fire station, and a water tower, and ex-
<br />pressed concern for these possible planned uses if equa11and
<br />was noh~proveded for initially planned use.
