Commissioner Morgan said a citizen had brought her a list re swimming at Hoover pool this summer and had inquired re free swimming; that she had been 'told that when children go to swim at Hoover that they are turned away because there are outside people there1 inquired if the free swim period could be extend- ed. Mr. Morton replied that we have free swims on Wednesdays; that pool has not been crowded so people have to be turned away; said that a flyer was to be issued in Spanish this year to accommodate Spanish speaking people; that a suggestion to extend hours for free swim would go into synchronized swimming program times which is taught at the later hour. Commission suggestions included possibility of a large-family ticket; that maybe schools could furnish names of youngsters who should be provided with free swim. Mr. Morton will investigate and report back. Commissioner Schenck told that a lady had come into the "y" and gave him a petition containing 93 names requesting a neighbor- hood playground in the Palm, Hudson and Oxford street area. The secretary was asked to acknowledge receipt of the petition (to Mrs. Amy Simpson, 849 Palm Avenue) with thanks. Item recommended for Agenda of Apri11st. Mr. Balzarini said that John Yoshida had compiled the nacres per manu survey which was distributed tonight. Commissioner Thompson read letter from Ribera & Sue recommend- ing bid acceptance for playground equipment at Neighborhood Park #1.
