Mr. Morton replied that we have free swims on Wednesdays; <br />that pool has not been crowded so people have to be turned away; <br />said that a flyer was to be issued in Spanish this year to <br />accommodate Spanish speaking people; that a suggestion to extend <br />hours for free swim would go into synchronized swimming program <br />times which is taught at the later hour. Commission suggestions <br />included possibility of a large-family ticket; that maybe schools <br />could furnish names of youngsters who should be provided with <br />free swim. Mr. Morton will investigate and report back. <br /> <br />Commissioner Schenck told that a lady had come into the "y" and <br />gave him a petition containing 93 names requesting a neighbor- <br />hood playground in the Palm, Hudson and Oxford street area. <br /> <br />The secretary was asked to acknowledge receipt of the petition <br />(to Mrs. Amy Simpson, 849 Palm Avenue) with thanks. Item <br />recommended for Agenda of Apri11st. <br /> <br />Mr. Balzarini said that John Yoshida had compiled the nacres <br />per manu survey which was distributed tonight. <br /> <br />Commissioner Thompson read letter from Ribera & Sue recommend- <br />ing bid acceptance for playground equipment at Neighborhood <br />Park #1. <br /> <br />City Manager Ullrich told of the forthcoming hearing (March 14) <br />in Martinez before the Regional Quality Control Board rega~ding <br />possible ban on new sewer connections being imposed on Belmont, <br />San Carlos and Redwood City, due to their tri-city sewage plan <br />not being complete; said that proposed ban was unfair and punitive <br />as all but 27 days of the charged delay of 5 mos. is attributabde <br />to delays of approval from the federal government; that there.are <br /> <br />, :, <br /> <br />,:1 <br /> <br />.~ <br />j <br />~ <br />\ <br />'I <br />,J <br />" J <br />1 <br />i <br />I <br />!.I <br /> <br /> <br />',,'j <br />'~1 <br /> <br />- I <br /> <br />".' <br />.~ <br />.
