I -i"lJ':Ii'Il"R Morgan and Schenck: Commissioner Schenck told that the conference was very worth- while; had gone to sessions re helping new commissioners and how they relate to staff; noting advantage wo each new commissioner of knowing where all facilities are located; attended a meeting ~n ecology and environment and how park and recreation commiss- ioners must keep these in mind; brought back lots of material. (Students left meeting-lO:05 p.m.) Commiss~oner Morgan anno~nced that she was elected to state board of Commission and Board Members Council. congratulated on her election. the new She was Mrs. Ray Spangler suggested that a group be organized to take on the project of contacting heirs of persons buried in Union Cemetery to see what can be done at the cemetery; suggested that it be kept as a memorial park, perhaps not as an elaborate one as Mt. View, and made more attractive and easier to maintain; suggested an organization such as the Native Daughters be con- tacted for interest in the project. Commissioner Thompson and the Commission congratulated Assistant Director of Recreation Paulson on his recent winning of the Amateur Golf Tournament in San Francisco, and for bringing hpnor to his department, the commission and the city.
