Avenue: <br /> <br />Mrs. Simpson spoke to the need of a playground in this area and <br />noted that 92 signatures were contained in the petition and urged <br />that something be done immediately to provide a playground for <br />the youngsters in this vicinity. (Mr. Whitmore arrived) <br />Chairman Knecht stated that Commission recognized the need for <br />the area and was again this year requesting funds for mini- <br />parks which could be used in this area and that a committee is <br />studying locations possibilities, and that the Commission is <br />behind the efforts of the petitioners. Commissioners indicated <br />that the Winans Report points up the need for facilities in <br />this area; (Mr. Morton and Mr. Paulson arrived.) the Winans <br />Report adopted by the Commission in 1967 points up long standing <br />Commission goalst that finances is the principle problem and the <br />mini-park type installation is probably an interim solution. <br />(Mr. Schenck arrived.) Chairman Knecht said he -would go before <br />Council and present the petition.
