DES : dft 8/19/92 (045/31) <br /> Thereof" , which ordinance was subsequently amended, and thereafter <br /> was superceded by Ordinance No. 2018 adopted June 25 , 1990 , likewise <br /> entitled, "Ordinance Determining and Declaring Water Shortage <br /> Emergency, Establishing Regulations and Restrictions on the Delivery <br /> and Consumption of Water and Establishing Penalties for Violations <br /> Thereof" , which ordinance , as subsequently amended, remains in <br /> effect; and <br /> WHEREAS , the aforesaid ordinances contain this Council' s <br /> determination that a water shortage emergency exists in the City of <br /> Redwood City; and <br /> WHEREAS , periodic recurring water shortages are a distinct <br /> possibility; and <br /> WHEREAS , this Council has reviewed the above-described Urban <br /> Water Shortage Contingency Plan for the City of Redwood City and <br /> desires to adopt the same; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS <br /> FOLLOWS : <br /> 1 . The above-mentioned Urban Water Shortage Contingency Plan <br /> is hereby approved and adopted and the Plan Update is hereby amended <br /> by the inclusion therein of said contingency plan. <br /> 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> implement the Urban Water Shortage Contingency Plan approved hereby, <br /> as an amendment to the Plan Update; provided, that the water <br /> management programs described in said contingency plan shall not be <br /> implemented unless and until the City of Redwood City receives <br /> reasonable assurance from the Water Department of the City and <br /> 2 <br />
