DISTRICT IV MEETING OF JANUARY 16th - Mr. paulson'told that <br /> <br />..... I.. ., L. .' -- <br /> <br />the Redwood City Kiwanis Club had received'a Citation Award for its <br />community efforts re the kids fishing pier, LeBlanc mini-park,. and <br />Brizee~property devel~pment. Mr. Paulson presented Commissioner Knecht <br />with, a Citation Award Plaque from CPRS for his thirteen years service <br />through the Park & Recreation Commission. <br /> <br />8 - G.A.P_.- STUDENI:S - rep~rts and/or: recommendatiJ.ons: A new group of <br />students were present to replace those that had been attending our - <br />meetings ~ Paula Krantz, Keith Loomis, Steve McKay, Lisa Torres, and <br />Sharon Yuki. Former GAP student, Dave Willis, was also present and <br />said he was interested in continuing to attend our meetings. <br /> <br />- - - <br /> <br />Commissioner Stuart told that he had contacted Mr. Dick Spence of <br />Southern Pacific and had been promised one (or possibly two) caboose <br />cars. Mr. Stuart suggested that Mr. Pa~lsQn and himself (and Mîss <br />Terri Lipman) write letters to Mr. Spence concerni~g the car(s). <br /> <br />9 - STULSAFT YARK ~~trout farm - Larry Schenck, Chairman: <br />Commissioner Schenck said he and his committee had met with Fish & <br />Game Commission representative who wa$ enthusiastic about project and <br />offered assistance to the city -would stock "farm", etc. Mr. Schenck <br />pointed up that so many facets -ecology, plant, marine life, e~c. <br />-could be included in fishing instruction- that it would be an out- <br />standing program: suggested an earth dam be considered: that recreation <br />staff most enthused about project: etc.' <br /> <br />Commission discussion included that if project was planned for-summer <br />1972, that funding should start this year7 that perhaps service clubs <br />cou'ld be interested in this:.- project also. Continued to March Agenda. <br /> <br />10 - EDGEWOOD ROAD COLLEGE SITE - Jack A. Continued to March. <br /> <br />Mr. Stuart told that he had talked briefly with Bill Rodgers of Leslie <br />Properties, and Pasco Balzarini, about oil slick in lagoon, noting that <br />oil was sloshing up to out-falls, was also some on sand area, etc. <br /> <br />12 ~ PARKPEPARTMENT - I~uperi~~enden~ P~sqo ~~lzarini: <br />a - Marina Landscaping - progress report: should be completed soon. <br />b - Man-~~r-acres com~arison - copies provided commissioners. <br />c - l'1Onthl_y re~ort - On motion of Commissioner Stuart,- seconded by <br />Commissioner Schenck, the monthly report was accepted, passed. <br /> <br />13 - RECREATION DEPARTMENT - Asst.
