Absent: Reuben Haynes and <br />William Welsh. <br />STAFF: Park Superintendent Pasco Balzarini, Park Supervisor <br />Sylvester Duplessis and Acting Director of Recreation, <br />Bill Paulson. <br /> <br />Chairman Thompson welcomed civic Cultural Commissioners Robert Buickeroo <br />and David Harris; Police Officer Peter MacDonald: and Scotty Craik, <br />Railroad IIBuffll. Stenographer Joan McMurry, Canada student, was <br />introduced and welcomed to the Commission. <br /> <br />Chairman Thompson pointed out a slight correction concerning the <br />approval of the minutes of the Regular Meeting of December. Commissione <br />Haynes had entered a motion to approve the minutes, but had not attended <br />the December meeting. It was agreed by the Commissioners present to <br />read that Commissioner Guida approved the minutes of the December meetin <br /> <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br />1. Park Department monthly report. <br />2. Copy of letter from city Manager James Fales, Jr. renaming <br />Community Park uRed Morton Community Park". <br />3. Copy of letter from city Manager to Staff concerning permis- <br />sion of a model airplane exhibition by Condor Legion Club. <br />4. A memorandum from City Clerk pertaining to resolutions pro- <br />posed for Council1s attention as adopted by the Congress for <br />Community Progress held on November 13, 1971. (Agenda #15) <br />5. Monthly Municipal Marina Report. <br />6. Letter from Mayor Bury to Chairman Thompson wi th r~gard to <br />letter from Commission concerning the Kahn property. <br />7. Copy of letter from Police Office Peter MacDonald seeking <br />assistance in sponsoring a Motorcycle and Mini Bike Park. <br />(Agenda #2) <br />8. Letter from George Leipzig with a copy of Resolution passed <br />at Congress for Community Progress--November 13, 1971. <br />(Agenda item #15) - <br />9.
