Weintraub motioned to <br />accept the department July reports, seconded by Dianne Pound: carried. <br /> <br />ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION:! <br /> <br />I" 1 <br /> <br />Dianne Pound had discussed with Mayor Keckley guidelines for <br />Commissioners as to their duties, responsibilities and intercommuni- <br />cation channels with City staff, City Council and the Commissions. <br />She noted that Councilman Bob Norris had also discussed it with the <br />Mayor. Mr. Norris will chairman a committee to meet the third week <br />of August to work out these guidelines and had requested Dianne Pound <br />to be a member of the committee. Chairman Schenck and Joanne Weintraub <br />will also attend. <br /> <br />Frank Guida commented on the brochure advertising the position of <br />Director of Park and Recreation Departments. He expressed the <br />Commission's interest in the type of person needed. He asked the <br />progress on the telephone installation in the park near the armory; <br />the Commission feels it is a necessary safety factor. Sylvester will <br />relay this information to Pasco Balzarini and they will continue to <br />attempt to locate a phone in the park. <br /> <br />Chairman Schenck noted information from the City Manager and Mayor <br />regarding the annual convention in Los Angeles October 15-18 of the <br />League of California Cities included all Commissioners attendance, <br />if possible. National Park and Recreation Convention is the week <br />before. Chairman Schenck inquired about a wind buffer near the <br />caboose in the park by planting trees. Sylvester said they are <br />now finished with hauling fill in and would take out the fence and <br />plant several trees re the master plan. <br /> <br />Adjournment of the meeting at 10:20 p.m. was by motion by Frank Guida, <br />seconded by Joanne Weintraub. <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />REDWOOD CITY PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />September 6, 1972 7:30 P.M. <br />Community Activities Building <br />1400 Roosevelt Avenue <br />Redwood City, California 94061 <br /> <br />ON ROLL CALL, the following Commissioners were noted present: Chair- <br />man Larry Schenck, Diane Pound, Joanne Weintraub, Frank Guida, <br />James Knecht and William Warren.
