<br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />NOVEMBER 29, 1999 <br /> <br />CIT'. )F REDWOOD CITY <br />EAST BA YSHORE ROAD WIDENING <br /> <br />CONSUL T ANT will visit the project location and review any noticeable changes since the <br />conceptual report was completed. <br /> <br />CONSUL T ANT shall obtain existing utility plans from PG&E, Pac Bell, and the CITY and other <br />utility companies known to operate in the project area. A full list of contacts shall be developed <br />by CONSULTANT and the CITY prior to contacting the utilities. <br /> <br />Task 2.2 - Topographic and Boundary Survey <br /> <br />CONSUL T ANT shall perform topographic surveys to be used as the basis of design. Cross <br />sections extending from the off ramp intersection to the theater entrance will be obtained at <br />appropriate intervals, extending from Caltrans right of way to 20' behind the existing Face of <br />Curb. Other surface features will be properly located. Boundary surveys will be performed to <br />accurately identify both Caltrans and City right of way limits. Additionally, record information <br />will be researched for accurate representation of adjacent property lines on the east and west side <br />of East Bayshore Road. <br /> <br />TASK 3: <br /> <br />PRELIMINARY LAYOUT <br /> <br />Following completion of the base mapping and review of existing data, CONSULTANT shall <br />layout the major elements ofthe proposed improvements (proposed "profile", cross slopes, <br />widths, and drainage improvements) on plan and profile sheets at a scale of 1 "=20'. <br />CONSUL T ANT shall then meet with the CITY to review and resolve issues identified. <br /> <br />The design will include input from the signal and landscaping personnel from the City to better <br />identify all impacts before proceeding with final design. <br /> <br />TASK 4: <br /> <br />FINAL PS&E <br /> <br />Following approval by the CITY of the major elements of the project as developed in Task 3, a <br />95% PS&E package shall be developed and submitted by CONSULTANT to the CITY. A <br />quality control review of the PS&E documents shall be performed by CONSULTANT prior to <br />the 95% submittal. Following the quality control review, CONSULTANT shall update plans, <br />specifications, and quantities prior to the submittal to CITY. <br /> <br />The 95% PS&E package will include detailing of drainage appurtenances, conform areas, and <br />design aspects not clearly covered on the plan and profile sheets. Detail features will incorporate <br />CITY and/or Caltrans standard components. <br /> <br />Detail recommendations provided by traffic and landscaping City personnel will be reflected on <br />the civil plans and/or specifications. Separate design plans for signal or landscaping <br />modifications are not anticipated for the package. The City will provide input regarding <br />adjustments to signal timing, striping, signage and traffic impacts as needed.
