<br />741 DO - 0 I -:Þ C> ( 0 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />8/28/00 <br /> <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, REDWOOD CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT <br />AND SEQUOIA UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT <br />(Redwood City 2000) <br /> <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered in this ). 41h day of ~ 2000, by and <br />between the COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, a political subdivision of the ~t¡J of ~alifornia, ("County"); <br />the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a municipal corporation of the State of California, ("City"); <br />REDWOOD CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT, an elementary school district, ("Elementary <br />School District"); and SEQUOIA UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT, a high school district, ("High <br /> <br />School District"); all of which entities are referred to collectively as "the Parties." <br /> <br />WITNESSETH: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable that the Parties enter into an agreement to establish <br />Redwood City 2000 to provide oversight to multiple collaborative programs designed to improve the <br />health and quality of life in Redwood City and to provide a forum for collaborative needs assessment and <br />community planning based on the National Civic League Healthy Communities Model: <br />NOW THEREFORE, IN CONSIDERATION OF THE MUTUAL COVENANTS AND <br />CONDITIONS CONTAINED HEREIN, THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. PURPOSE. The Parties are entering into this Agreement for the sole purpose of providing <br />assistance to and allowing the establishment of the Redwood City 2000 program. Redwood <br /> <br />City 2000 exists for two major purposes: <br />A. To provide a forum wherein representatives of public entities can work together and with <br />members of the private sector, business and the community at large to improve the quality <br /> <br />oflife in Redwood City. <br /> <br />B. To provide oversight to the work of ongoing collaboratives within the city that are <br />working toward quality of life improvements. <br /> <br />1 <br />
