The municipal strike and other <br />extenuating factors has precluded any present imp1imentation of the p~ogram. <br /> <br />3. WATERFRONT PLANNING COMMITTEE. James Knecht reported the Cozmni ttee has a <br />large volume of research. The Committee hopes to remove the Stanford crew from <br />the marina; plans more fishing piers, shore line fishing, golf course, sailing area, <br />marine aqua stadium, joint park with school and trap shooting; near Whipple is a <br />parcel large enough for mini-bike park; and that it would take two years to get this <br />all underway. Chairman Schenck indicated this item would be on the agenda from month <br />to month. <br /> <br /> <br />4. STULSAFT MASTER PLAN - STATUS REPORT. Commissioner Weintraub reported. Mr. Weeks <br />said there had been a meeting and reviewed all resumes and had selected three firms <br />to be interviewed re designing of the park and that there will be a night meeting <br />next Tuesday to hear them and negotiate a contract with one. Chairman Schenck will <br />attend if Diane Pound is unable to attend. <br /> <br />5. MONTHLY REPORTS: (a) RECREATION DIVISION: Bill Paulson reported that tickets <br />are available for the new play sponsored by the department. He distributed booklets <br />of evaluations of the spring, summer and~fa11 programs. He asked the Chairman to <br />appoint someone~for the signing of a contract to coordinate baseball field use at a <br />meeting of baseball commissioners of~leagues in town and the rec staff. Mr. Weeks <br />commended Bill Paulson for the work on~the evaluation booklet which will give guideL <br />lines for future planning of-rec programming. Joanne Weintraub motioned, seconded <br />by Commissioner Guida to accept the Recreation Eeport as submitted. <br /> <br />(b) PARK DIVISION REPORT: Mr. Balzarini noted the Arbor Day Tree Planting by <br />children at Temple Beth Jacob, March 4~ Park Division report was accepted as sub- <br />mitted by motion of Commissioner Knecht, seconded by Joanne Weintraub. <br /> <br />ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION <br /> <br />Chairman Schenck will send flowers and congratulations to Mrs. Pound re birth of her <br />new son. <br /> <br />Frank Guida requested County Recreation Cozmnission minutes and Mr. Weeks will <br />acquire them. He will also check whether the recreational activities at the Fair <br />Oaks Community Center will involve Commission and Department prograzmning. <br /> <br />James Knecht felt a letter should be written to the captain of the Stanford Crew. <br /> <br />Chairman Schenck complimented staff for the tour taken last Saturday of th~ark <br />system and that the information sheet re the agenda is very helpful. <br /> <br />Mr. Weeks said the staff would like to coordinate department reports with City <br />Council reports plus the highlights of planning and development and that they will <br />continue the agenda information sheet.
