There have been some legal entanglements relative to access road and
condemnation procedures connected with Canyon Park (priority one of this Committee)
and they cannot proceed as rapidly as they had anticipated. However, the Committee
did interview three architectural firms on August 3 and are prepared to recommend
contract negotiations upon resolution of current delays. It was indicated that the
architects suggested that the park be a passive one. The Design & Development
Committee concurred with the architects. Chairman Schenck stated that a Mrs. Herd-
man had approached him with a list of residents living in the area who very much
wanted tennis courts. This list will be sent to Commissioner Weintraub so that
she may ruther research the situation. Mr. Weeks suggested adding an additional
section to the scope of work which would consider tennis and multi-purpose courts
utilizing the Hetch-Hetchy Right-of-Way section near the commercial area on Oak
Knoll Drive. It was agreed this would be added.

Commissioner Weintraub moved the Commission accept the scope of work for Canyon
Park, seconded by Commissioner Pound; carried.
