<br />'228 <br /> <br />Mr. Wolf also requested information concerning the construction adjacent to the soft- <br />ball fields and asked whether or not the fields would be expanded so as to provide for <br />tegulation fields utilizing the 275 foot field dimension. He indicated that the present <br />size diamond is inadequate for tournament play. Commissioner Guida explained to Mr. <br />Wolf that it is proposed in Phase 2 and 3 or the park construction to provide for a <br />field which will have regulation field dimensions. <br /> <br />Mr. Wolf ,then raised the question with respect to the control of ,dogs in the public <br />park areas. He indicated that he had witnessed two different children being bitten <br />and that there were occasional dog fights. Mr. Wolf was infoLmed of the current City <br />regulations prohihiting dogs in the parks; however, for the most part, the pbblic chooses <br />to ignore the regulations as well as the signs posted prohibiting dogs in the park. <br />It was pointed out that the City contracts with the San Mateo County, who in turn con- <br />tracts wi:til~ tbefeninsula Humane Society, for the enforcement of the regulations as <br />well as surveillance over problems created by dogs. Mr. Wolf was informed of the con- <br />cern which the City Council has relative to this problem and of the efforts which were <br />made during the budget process to hopefully obtain greater cooperation and control <br />from the County. <br /> <br /> <br />There being no further business to discuss, Commissioner Pound moved to adjourn, <br />seconded by Commissioner Knecht. <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Commissioner Guida <br />Commissioner Knecht <br />Commissioner Pound <br />Commissioner Schenck <br />Commissioner Weintraub <br />None <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Motion carried.
