He stated that <br />he met with Dr. Wilson who in'turn stated that the Board of Education is not <br />in 'any'position to "release the property --tor sale within --th~ next three to five <br />years. . . perhaps longer. Interim use was discussed and developing- ~ the property <br />into an athletic field or two fields. Dr. Wils on indicated that he did not feel : ~ ~ . <br />the Board of Education would object to joint use, and that he felt lease or <br />rental charges would be quite nominal. It therefore seemed that there might <br />be some possibility for -interim use and would depend upon what type of <br />agreement could be drawn up. '. . <br /> <br />Mr. Weeks also attended a meeting 'at McKinley School with -Mr. Morrissey <br />and reported that the problem of 'a Senior-Facility is very complex at this <br />time. <br /> <br />.... <br /> <br />MATTERS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br /> <br />, Mr. Weintraub asked about the effeeti veness' of the tree -protection ordiance. <br />Mr. Balzarini -stated that unless, the Department knows of a violat'ion or it <br />is reported to the Department, little can be done to prevent violations. He <br />ala 0 s ta ted that not all trees are protected under the ordiance. Mr. Weeks <br />stated that the Department plans to initiate a communi~ education program <br />for the citizens regarding tree preservation as soon as it is feasible. <br /> <br />Motion: Commissioner Guida mQved to ,adjaurn to the - joint meeting -of February <br />2 i, 1974 ; . s e eo nde d by Commissioner Pound.
