It was mentioned that a <br />joint report would be made to the Ci~ Manager to ana¡yze whether the <br />original objectives were b~~ met, to give some indication whether or <br />'not the-staff director is being utilized to the best advantage, program. <br />effectiveness, etc. The report will be part of the operational budget <br />submitted to the City Manager. -- - , - <br /> <br /> <br />Chairman Schenck wanted to know if this material would be returned to the <br />Cnmmission for input, and Mr. -Weeks indicated that he felt the City Manager <br />wÒUld welcome the "Commission's input. commissioner Knecht felt the entire <br />program should be accomplished on a volunteer basis. <br /> <br />Motion: Commissioner Guida moved to accept the Department Monthly Reports as <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />written; seconded by CnnmL"tssioner Rollins. Motion carried W1animously <br />by voice-vote. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />Waterfront 'Committee Report <br /> <br />.. .-- <br /> <br />Commissioner" Pound g8R1! the -Waterfront-Committee report. She indicated <br />slides were shawn at the Waterfront meeting ~rêgarding a pilot program. on <br />'sewage dispo-sBJ.. Also" the San Mateo County Avi at i on- Camnittee gave a <br />presentation requesting consideration be given to constructing another <br />airport in ~the waterfront area. Commissioner Pound related that the - <br />- Waterfront Commi t tee is - conclud.:i.rig their work and felt the work would <br />shift to 9C1fo staff and lClfo committee. An outside consultant will then <br />be used. A new task force cnmmittee is being established by the Planning <br />Commission. <br /> <br />-Motion: Cnmmi.ssióner Knecht moved to - accept the Waterfront Cnmmittee report; <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />-- ~-S-econded by Commissioner Weintraub. Motion carried unanimously -by <br /> <br />. - <br /> <br />voice vote. <br /> <br />- . - <br /> <br />. ROUND TABLE <br /> <br />Commissioner Weintraub inquired if representatives from the Commission could <br /> <br />- - -- <br /> <br />attend the downtown development meetings. Mr. Weeks mentioned these -were open <br />meetings in the 'Mánager'-s office and anyone Wishing to attend would be welcome. <br />Commissioner Weintraub also mentioned she had attended a Civic -Cultural Commission <br />meeting and found it informative and very interesting. She recommended the <br />Cultural Cnmmi.ssion meetings to other Commissioners. <br /> <br /> <br />Cnmmissioner Pound inquired about the date of the Coun~ Parks and Recreation <br />Commission meeting. Mr. Weeks indicated it was scheduled for March 13, 1974 <br />at 8:00 PM in the Veterans Memorial Building. It was indicated that this was the <br />same time as the Redwood City Parks & Recreation Commission meeting, and it was <br />therefore decided to move the Redwood Ci~ Parks & Recreation Commission regular <br />business meeting for March to Wednesday, March 20 at 7:30 PM in the Community <br />Activities Building. <br /> <br />Commissioner Pound requested info~ation from the staff regarding the pollution <br />at Neptune Beach in Redwood Shores. Mr. Weeks reported that he had spoken with <br />Mr. Pusich and that Mr. Pusich had showed him a map of all the storm drains <br />located at Redwood Shores and where the water stood. He indicated the water <br />backs into the storm system and becomes stagnant because it cannot drain. There <br />are several solutions but all are costly: <br /> <br />
