<br />. - <br />~ <br />1-0 <br /> <br />Mr.-'Johnson e:xp1ained that the Forty-niners have a time deadline and would like <br />the building constntcted and finalized by July 1, 1974. He also mentioned that <br />constntction of the building would be paid for by the Forty-niners and would be <br />given to the City and leased back. <br /> <br />Cnmmissioner Guida mentioned that the master plan calls for a maintenance yard <br />to be constructed in the proposed area for the new building addition, but he <br />felt -the maintenance yard could probably be relocated e1sewher~. He indicated <br />the Commun~ty Park su~-cnmmittee had beeñ discussing relocation of the main- <br />tenance-area. - <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Weeks stated that the City Manager had appointed a staff' team. to work with <br />the Forty-niners_~elative to their reque~t as wel~ a~ review their contract. <br />Mr. Weeks also mentioned concern over - encroachment of any kind: into the park <br />but that realistically the City would work toward an arrangement to the mutual <br />satisfaction of the City and the Forty-niners. <br /> <br />Chairman Schenck stated that 1:J.e was not personally oppo~ed to the building <br />addition but he suggeste~ getting total inPut before voting. <br /> <br />A vote was called on the motion: <br /> <br />Aye s <br />Nays: <br />Abstain: . <br /> <br />Two <br />Three <br />One - <br /> <br />Motion failed. <br /> <br />Mr. Weeks mentioned there were several areas the City wished to review which <br />included encroachment, concern with making the area usable by the public, and <br />other future additions to the area by the Forty-niners. <br /> <br />, - <br /> <br />Chairman Schenck relinquished the Chair to Commtssioner Guida. <br /> <br />Motion: <br /> <br />Chairman Schenck moved that the Cnmmission approve the concept of <br />- the building addition ,and would urge the staff to review mutu.ally <br />wit~ 'þhe Forty-niners the current,provisions of the contract <br />~for the use of the area as well as arrive at a mutual agreement <br /> <br />. - - , . <br /> <br />to provide. for the ~table fencing, seconded by Cnmmissioner <br />Rollins. <br /> <br />Ayes: <br />Nays <br /> <br />Five <br />One <br /> <br />~Motion Carried. <br /> <br /> <br />Commissioner Guida requested the Commissioners be given,an infor~ tour through <br />the Forty-niner building so that they could be better informed. Mr. Johnson <br />felt that to be an excellent idea. Access points and the major <br />areas of concern were discussed, along with ingress and egress. <br />
