<br />==, ~~.~ 11 <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Weeks reviewed the entire I concept plan under study nOW' including pa thw8¥ <br />systems, overnight group camping, picnic faëili ties throughout, d8¥ camp facilities, <br />play apparatus area, a .major turf area, regional park activities, wildlife demonstration <br />areas, and parking areas. He also mentioned an interpret a tiva center in the park which <br />could include pictures of flora and fauna, a layout map of the park, and a ranger contact <br />point for distribution of leaflets and information. Neighborhood meetings will be the <br />next stage with the hope of receiving community input. <br /> <br /> <br />Motion: <br /> <br />- _, I'IIT <br /> <br />Commissioner Weintraub moved that the Commission accept the <br />prelim~ concept plan presented by Osmundson & Associates, <br />seconded by Commissioner Pound. <br /> <br />The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />'AGENDA ITEM 3 - ~in~~ of No~.na.ting Committee !or N:ew Offic~rs 1974':'75 <br /> <br />Chairman Schenck appointed Conmissioners Knecht, Weintraub and Rollins to the <br />Nominating Committee. In that Commissioners Knecht and Guida t S terms expire <br />in April and, as the Cammission is one member short, there was concern about <br />the functioning of the Commission. Chairman Schenck indicated it was his <br />understanding the Commissioners would serve until replaced. <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM 4 - ~ollow~Up ~i8cussion of Jo~nt Council-pommission Meetin£ <br /> <br />The Commission felt their suggestions were well received by the City Council and <br />that both the Commission and the Council received a better understanding of what <br />both bodies are trying to accomplish. It was agreed additional meetings should <br />be held. <br /> <br />Motion: Commissioner Guida moved that appreciation be extended to the City Council, <br />and that the Commission is looking forward to joint meetings on an annual <br />basis, seconded by Commissioner Pound. <br /> <br />The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />The Santa Clara Avenue Elementary School site joint use consideration was returned <br />to the Open Space Committee for further review. <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM 5 - Follow-up Di~~ussi~n of M~eting ~ith County Parks and Recreation <br />Commission <br /> <br />I!o.. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The meeting was briefly discussed. It was felt the combined meeting was a good <br />idea and that there should be regular opportunities to communicate with the <br />County Commission. <br /> <br />Mr. Weeks introduced Lui~ Hernandez, Park Foreman, and Chairman Schenck commended <br />the efficiency of the Park Department during the recent storm with regard to the <br />down tree near the YMCA. <br /> <br />REPORTS <br /> <br />REPORT ITEM 1 - DTesLlip &,.peveloj>ment ,Committe~ <br /> <br />The Committee discussed their reveiw of the Stulsaft Plan. They also indicated <br />they'have meetings set up to review the neighborhood park development. <br />
