He also mentioned an interpret a tiva center in the park which could include pictures of flora and fauna, a layout map of the park, and a ranger contact point for distribution of leaflets and information. Neighborhood meetings will be the next stage with the hope of receiving community input. Motion: - _, I'IIT Commissioner Weintraub moved that the Commission accept the prelim~ concept plan presented by Osmundson & Associates, seconded by Commissioner Pound. The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. 'AGENDA ITEM 3 - ~in~~ of No~.na.ting Committee !or N:ew Offic~rs 1974':'75 Chairman Schenck appointed Conmissioners Knecht, Weintraub and Rollins to the Nominating Committee. In that Commissioners Knecht and Guida t S terms expire in April and, as the Cammission is one member short, there was concern about the functioning of the Commission. Chairman Schenck indicated it was his understanding the Commissioners would serve until replaced. AGENDA ITEM 4 - ~ollow~Up ~i8cussion of Jo~nt Council-pommission Meetin£ The Commission felt their suggestions were well received by the City Council and that both the Commission and the Council received a better understanding of what both bodies are trying to accomplish. It was agreed additional meetings should be held. Motion: Commissioner Guida moved that appreciation be extended to the City Council, and that the Commission is looking forward to joint meetings on an annual basis, seconded by Commissioner Pound. The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. The Santa Clara Avenue Elementary School site joint use consideration was returned to the Open Space Committee for further review. AGENDA ITEM 5 - Follow-up Di~~ussi~n of M~eting ~ith County Parks and Recreation Commission I!o.. The meeting was briefly discussed. It was felt the combined meeting was a good idea and that there should be regular opportunities to communicate with the County Commission. Mr. Weeks introduced Lui~ Hernandez, Park Foreman, and Chairman Schenck commended the efficiency of the Park Department during the recent storm with regard to the down tree near the YMCA. REPORTS REPORT ITEM 1 - DTesLlip &,.peveloj>ment ,Committe~ The Committee discussed their reveiw of the Stulsaft Plan. They also indicated they'have meetings set up to review the neighborhood park development.
