The Commission concurred with the neigh-
borhood park distribution as shown on the proposed General Plan.

MOTION:

Commissioner Pound moved that the neighborhood park dis-
tribution and acreage is adequate and acceptable, seconded
by Commissioner Wilson.

The motion carried unanimously by voice vo,te.

The Commission then discussed the shoreline configuration as proposed
for the inland waterway throughout the area between Bridge Parkway and
Shell Parkway. Several of the problems rel~:t:"ing. to water pollution,
the flushing action of the water within the waterway, the utilization
of the waéerway for storm drainage purposes and for potential recrea-
tional purposes was discussed. The Commission concurred that a meander-
ing and contoured shoreline would enhance the aesthetics of the area as
well as its usability for recreational purposes; however, they recognize
the engineering constraints which might be involved.

MOTION:

Commissioner Rollins moved that the natural contoured shape
shoreline be initiated rather than the straight line, bulk-
head type, seconded by Commissioner Wilson.

The motion carried unanimously by voice vote.

With respect to the bridge location which is proposed across the water-
way near the commercial area, the Commission reaffirmed its previous
posi tion wi th respect to the loca tion of this bridge and recommend ed
that all efforts be made to locate the bridge around the waterway rather
than across the waterway. They felt that a compromise was possible in
that vacinity so as to retain the continuity of the commercial area as
well as maximize the future recreational use of the lagoon area.

There being no further business, Commissioner Pound moved to adjourn
the meeting, seconded by Commissioner Aldrich. The motion carried
unanimously by voice vote and the meeting was adjourned at 6:25 PM.
