WHEREAS, pursuant to Business and Professions Code Section 5491.1, <br />this Council, in consideration of the findings hereinafter stated, concludes that <br />there is a continuing need for the Sign Ordinance to take effect as so enacted; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />I. Findings This Council hereby finds and declares as follows: <br />(a) The above referenced Sign Ordinance regulates or prohibits the use of <br />on- premises advertising display that is more restrictive than law in <br />existence prior to its enactment; <br />(b) The Sign Ordinance includes provisions for the identification and <br />inventorying of all displays within the City's territorial limits that are <br />determined to be illegal or abandoned pursuant to the law that was in <br />effect prior to the adoption, and amendment thereof; <br />(c) The required identification and inventory commenced not later than <br />120 days from the date on which the Sign Ordinance was adopted, <br />and said identification and inventory was completed in a timely <br />manner; <br />(d) Upon the completion of the required identification and inventory this <br />Council considered, at a public hearing held on May 22, 2000, whether <br />there is a need for the Sign Ordinance, as enacted, to take effect; <br />Reso -981 <br />DES:djk 2 14042 <br />F: Shared \Shared \Redwood \Council <br />08/22/00 <br />
