<br />, <br /> <br />Committee Reports/Monthly Reports/Matters of Commission Interest <br /> <br />-Commisioner Slusser mentioned that the Shorebird Park parking lot is being <br />used as an overflow parking lot for local citizens. He noted the cars <br />parked in the lot in the evening were the same ones the following <br />morning. He has notified the police officer in charge. <br /> <br />-Commission Slusser also read a letter from a new Redwood Shores resident <br />who would like to see an indoor/outdoor pool available to residents. He <br />will forward copies of the letter to the other Commissioners. <br /> <br />-Commission Nordness asked about the disparity in programs offered at the <br />Parks & Recreation Department and ones offered in other cities. He also <br />spoke of the Sister City Program and the need to have a cultural exchange <br />and not just focus on the ports of the two cities. A visit is planned for <br />September 1991. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Swope commented on the great turnout at an Accessible <br />Recreation field trip; on the problems with the HVAC system at the Fair <br />Oaks Community Center, and State of California licensing requirements. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Davis inquired about Mitchell Field (Kiwanis Field) and <br />when the renovation would begin. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Howard stated there would be a Women's Softball Tournament <br />on August 18 at Hawes Park. <br /> <br />-Matters for the August agenda: Joint City Council & Commision Meeting/ <br />Tour on October 27, 1990. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 9:55 p.m. to be reconvened on Wednesday, <br />August 22, 1990 at 7:30 p.m. at the Community Activities Building, <br />1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />I <br />
