Redwood Shores Parks <br /> <br />ø <br /> <br />Griffiths explained that he was in the process of drafting a report to the <br />City Manager to estimate the costs involved in building two new Redwood <br />Shores parks in addition to a community complex. The complex would include <br />a community center, library, maintenance station. <br /> <br />3. Newsletter <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />General discussion was held r~gard;ng the newsletter and its effectiveness <br />in the community. Buchan said that there may be a need for 2 separate <br />publications: (1) a park and recreation newsletter, and (2) a city wide <br />newsletter originated from the City Manager's office. <br /> <br />4. Capital Improvement Projects <br /> <br />Griffiths explained the prioritization of projects are a problem. Murray <br />felt that Redwood Shores was an important revenue source and had a large <br />assessed value and was'making a large contribution to the tax base, and <br />felt that parks are a condition to the continued development of that area. <br /> <br />Bury adjourned the meeting at 9:20 a.m. <br /> <br />All Commissioners and City Council members attending visited the Red Morton <br />gym along with Nita Spangler, Mike Gibson (Redwood Shores Properties Inc.), <br />and Mike Gibbons (P&R staff member). <br /> <br />Counci lman Murray left and the rest of the people visted the fo,llowing <br />parks/sites: (1) site at Bridge & Marine Parkway, (2) Marlin Park, <br />(3) Shannon Way Playground site, and (4) Sandpiper Park site. <br /> <br />Lunch was held at the Hotel Sofitel from 12 noon - 1:30 p.m. <br /> <br />- '. <br /> <br />Denise Monroe <br /> <br />- , <br /> <br />"'.... , <br />.
