<br />'I, <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />MONTHLY REPORTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Swope asked Director Griffiths what type of plan the <br />department had relative to recent frost damage. Director Griffiths <br />explained that Management Analyst Ramon Aguilar had prepared an analysis <br />for the City Manager which details between $30,000-31,000 in frost damage <br />to irrigation systems, groundcovers, etc. These costs will have to be <br />absorbed by the department. A copy of this analysis report will be sent to <br />all Commissioners. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Swope inquired about shelter being provided to homeless <br />people during the recent cold weather. She was also delighted to see the <br />high activity levels at the Veterans Senior Center. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Howard thought the IILock-in Nightll at Red Morton Center was a <br />great concept. She inquired about the "Cinderellall play being sponsored by <br />the Department on March 2-3. She also asked the Commissioners to IIthink <br />aboutU July 4th! <br /> <br />MATTERS OF COMMISSION INTEREST <br /> <br />-Director Griffiths indicated that the Marlin Park parcourse will be <br />removed due to its deteriorated condition. <br /> <br />-Councilwoman Judy Buchan said she spoke with City Engineer Adam Gee <br />regarding Upton House who indicated that it would take 3-4 weeks to be <br />completed. <br /> <br />-Chairperson Nordness stated that the Parks and, Recreations Department may <br />have to operate on reduced sales taxes due to the current economic <br />recession and that the Commission should keep that in mind. He also <br />requested that a IICode of Conductll be prepared this year to be given out to <br />all new Commission members. Chairperson Nordness felt that the Commission <br />should establish some goals and timetables at next month1s meeting and <br />asked that it be placed on Februaryls agenda. <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission was adjourned at <br />9:20 p.m. to be reconvened on Wednesday, February 27,1991 at the Community <br />Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />
