ITEM 2 - 4th of July Parade Commissioner Mortensen said that he will be faxing a letter to Jim Francis formalizing the use of his vehicle in the parade and will be sending him a map. He said that two volunteers would be needed to decorate the car. The vehicle needs to be in the staging area by 8:45am and could be decorated at that time. All other Commissioners need to arrive by 9:15am. ITEM 3 - Park and Recreation Brochure Item was deferred to next meeting. ITEM 4 - Meeting with Fair Oaks Advisory Board The Commissioners agreed on July 17 as the date of the joint meeting with the Fair Oaks Advisory Board. The meeting will begin at 7:30pm and will be held at the Fair Oaks Community Center. The joint meeting will be held in lieu of the Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting scheduled for July 24. Committee Reports/Monthly Reports/Matters of Commission Interest As the May Monthly reports were delivered late to the Commissioners,-they will be reviewed at the next regular Parks and Recreation Commission meeting. -Commissioner Truscelli said that she and Vince arranged the lunch portion of the IILunch with the Bunny" event mentioned in the minutes of May 22. She said the event was very successful and could be a nice money maker. -Commissioner Truscelli said that she attended the Memorial Day Services held at 8am at Union Cemetery which were sponsored by the American Legion. A breakfast also followed the ceremony. -Commissioner Truscelli also said she attended the Concert in the Park held on June 6 at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center. The event was sponsored by Civic Cultural Commission and had 150 people in attendance. -Commissioner Howard said that the Pride and Beautification Committee recently presented the 1991 Mayor1s Beautification awards. Ten nominations were received and awards were presented to all nominees. A list of the recipients will be sent to the Commissioners for their review. . -Vice Chairperson Slusser welcomed newly appointed Commissioner Truscelli to the Parks and Recreation Commission. The regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission was adjourned at 9:25pm to be reconvened at 7:30pm on Wednesday, July 17, 1991 and held at the Fair Oaks Community Center, 2600 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, California. ------ .
