<br /> <br />. <br /> <br />i <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />M/S Swope/Truscelli: <br /> <br />To adopt the 92-93 Prioritized Objectives of the <br />Park and Recreation Commission. <br /> <br />Motion passed. <br /> <br />M/S Swope/Truscelli: <br /> <br />To amend the motion and change Item #3 to read <br />"Increase the number of and participants in <br />youth programsll; and change the title to <br />IIPrioritized 1993 Objectives of the Park and <br />Recreation Commissionll. <br /> <br />Moti on passed.. <br /> <br />Nita Spangler asked the Commission if they intended to continue their support <br />of Union Cemetery and the Commissioners indicated that Union Cemetery was <br />included in priority #1 of their objectives. Mrs. Spangler mentioned she was <br />asked recently to lead a tour of Union Cemetery for a second grade class from <br />Taft School. She remarked on how interested, well prepared and well behaved <br />the students were during the 2 hour tour. She said she felt Union Cemetery <br />was a wonderful resource to Redwood City and wanted to see its continued <br />development. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - Study Session with City Council - February 1,1993 <br /> <br />Chairperson Slusser said he and Commissioner Davis have met several times and <br />have developed a proposed agenda/outline for the meeting. He requested that <br />all Commissioners participate in the Study Session by making short <br />presentations regarding specific topics. The Commissioners discussed the <br />topics and agreed to the following agenda: <br /> <br />-Introduction-Chairperson Slusser <br />-Commissioner Focus/Objectives-Vice Chairperson Davis <br />-Commission Perspectives <br />-Park Status-Commissioner Hordness <br />-Union Cemetery-Commissioner Swope <br />-Public Responsiveness-Vice Chairperson Davis <br />-Red Morton Center-Commissioner Howard <br />-Redwood Shores/Belmont School Site-Director Griffiths <br />-Open Discussion/Expectations <br /> <br />ITEM 4 - CPRS Convention - San Francisco - March 11-14.1993 <br /> <br />Director Griffiths mentioned if any of the Commissioners were interested in <br />attending the CPRS Conference to please contact Secretary Denise Monroe. <br />Commissioner Truscelli indicated she was interested in attending. <br /> <br />ITEM 5 - Nomination of Commission Officers <br /> <br />Chairperson Slussser said he and Commissioner Hordness would form a <br />nominating committee and meet to select nominees for officers for 1993. <br />They will report back next meeting to the Commission. <br /> <br />Committee Reports/Monthly Reports <br /> <br />-Commissioner Truscelli mentioned Supervisor Knight1s report regarding <br />conflicting City and School District holidays for the Kids Klub Program and <br />was pleased to see Kids Klub was able to accommodate these dates in their <br />program. She said she was very pleased with the monthly re ports and felt <br />everyone was doing a great job. <br /> <br />
