<br />~ <br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />Minutes of Tuesday, March 23, 1993 <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: <br /> <br />Chairperson Davis, Commissioners <br />Berone, Hordness, Slusser, Swope, <br />and Truscelli <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br />GUESTS PRESENT: <br /> <br />Commissioner Howard <br /> <br />Mike Gibbons <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: <br /> <br />Director Peter Griffiths, <br />Park & Recreation Superintendent <br />Sally Hartman and Secretary Denise <br />Monroe <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order at 6:20pm by Chairperson Don Davis in Room 5 of the Community <br />Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The minutes of the February meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />-Director Griffiths provided each of the Commissioners with an updated Budget <br />Calendar and a list of planned Capital Improvement projects for fiscal years <br />93-94,94-95 and 95-96. The list also includes retrofit projects to comply <br />with new ADA regulations. <br /> <br />-An application was received from the Peninsula Celebration Association for <br />the 4th of July Parade. This matter will be placed on the April agenda. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br /> <br />Chairperson Davis noted that because this meeting would be immediately <br />followed by the Public Meeting on the Red Morton Center at 7:00pm, several <br />items on the agenda would be deferred to the April meeting. . <br /> <br />ITEM 1 - Red Morton Center RFP Update <br /> <br />Director Griffiths said a meeting was held earlier today with staff and Mark <br />Schatz of Bull, Stockwell and Allen in preparation for the public hearing. <br />Mr. Schatz will present several drawings for the public1s review and <br />comments during this evening1s public meeting. Director Griffiths felt <br />the meeting tonight would be helpful to finalize the building requirements <br />He said staff has involved all user groups in the process and residents were <br />notified of the meeting through newspapers articles, posters and hand <br />delivered flyers. <br /> <br />ITEM 2 - Study Session/Park Tour with City Council <br /> <br />Director Griffiths announced there is a conflict with the City Council for <br />the May 1 date selected for the park tour. The Commissioners discussed <br />alternative dates and decided to have a study session and a park tour held <br />separately. ' <br /> <br />
